Sonia Turcotte is interested in animal-human relations and social ecology, in particular the experiences of animals in food systems. They are a doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester, exploring processes of intensification in animal agriculture and how intensity is understood, materialised, experienced, accommodated and resisted, by both human and nonhuman animals.
They are also a designer, researcher and facilitator in the public and social change sector.
Sonia runs a monthly slow reading group on animals.
